The Sport of Grandmas

Does anyone know of a group of grandmas that gets together around here to gossip and sit around and get stiff knees and knit?  I'm looking to join in on the fun for Literary Journalism.  I want to gossip with them, learn knew knitting tricks, hear about the time grandpa nearly mowed his foot off back in '63, and then write it all up.  For real.  That's probably going to be my topic.  So if you know of anyone like that...

Zero suggestions, but I like the idea.

Hmmm...nope, but it is a good idea. Maybe you should check out the nursing homes or assisted living places...I feel like they have groups that meet on a regular basis to do that type of stuff.

One meets at Genuine Purl (knitting shop downtown) Sundays at 1:30. Another at the panera in Hixon Tuesday nights and look up the Chattanooga Fiber Guild to see if they do anything.

Is knitting a requirement? I know someone that gets together with her friends every Wednesday-she refers to it as holy bridge day.

I've been told McDonald Church has a group that meets ever week--number is 423.396.3462, to find out.

This is interesting because I have been wanting to play bridge with the wise old grandpa types for about a year and a half. You can have the grandmas if I can have the grandpas...

I'm not a grandma yet, but you can come and knit and gossip with me! (I go to a group here that you're welcome to visit when you're up this way, ok?)
